3 years in the making – the new album is finally here!
Dance Through The Storm is released officially on 1st Feb 2013, but you can download it now by visiting our Band Camp page - http://atcuk.bandcamp.com/. You can also pre-order a hard copy that will be sent to you as soon as they become available.
We have two album launch shows to announce also. Friday Feb 1st we are in London, at Jamboree in Limehouse, with a show in Bracknell at South Hill Park Arts Centre the following night (2nd Feb). All details in the gig section of the website.
We’ll be updating the site with much more album info and adding to the gigs for next year in the coming weeks.
The promotion of the album starts tonight (10th Dec) with a radio interview on the Sue Marchant show. The show goes out across a number of BBC stations, however it is broadcast from the studios in Cambridge. We are on at 8.20pm and you can listen live at www.bbc.co.uk/radiocambridgeshire

London gigs
We have a couple of London dates coming up in the next week or so:
First we are in Leytonstone on Friday 16th Nov at Lost Horizons Folk Club. We'll be headlining this event, at the Heathcote Arms - on at about 9.30pm. £3 on the door. This will be our new bass player Becky's first full set - exciting times.
Then, we are very pleased to say we have been invited to do a spot at Winterfest, taking place at our favourite London venue - The Bedford in Balham on Sunday 25th Nov. This is a free entry show and if you haven't been to this venue yet - come along, it is incredible! We're due to be on at 10pm for this one.
We look forward to seeing some of you at these upcoming shows!

Bass player number 4...
And so bass player number 4 is in place. First there was Jim, then there was Ben, followed by Ian.. and now - Becky!
Yes folks - what better way to freshen things up after 5 years together - bring in another chick! We're now like the Fleetwood Mac of the folk world, although none of us have aspirations to present the Brit Awards anytime soon, and there is unlikely to be any inter-band relationships that end acrimoniously only to inspire a multi platinum selling album - although we'd take the last bit.
Becky applied to our ad for a new bass player suggesting we should try trombone instead. An interesting prospect, and when delving deeper, we realised that she played bass as well. What an amazing find. Becky comes in to the band with a fantastic musical background performing many different styles, and also has to travel nearly as far as Gethin for rehearsal - so is massively committed as well - brilliant.
We want to welcome Becky in to the band, and have already confiscated her passport so she can't leave for the USA.
In other news - we've finished recording! The first mixes of a number of tracks have now been done, we're having a listen and making any final tweeks before we sign them off as worthy of public scrutiny. We think we will have the whole album mixed and ready for pressing by mid October - which is really exciting.
We have tentatively scheduled the release for February 1st 2013. We did discuss the idea of getting it out before Xmas, however have decided to give ourselves a few months for duplication and getting it out to the press etc before official release. Why rush when it's taken us this long already!
Slowly but surely over the next few months we will be building the album promotional gigging run, where we hope to get to as many towns and cities as possible, as well as begin to line up a few festivals for next year. Please keep an eye on the official site for news on shows, and album launch plans, which will be confirmed in the next month or so.
Here we go then - 3 years in the making, and we're almost there!
Cheers

Summer album update
Hello Everyone
Hope summer is treating you all well. Most of us have been away on holiday throughout August so all has been quiet, and we're struggling back into our daily routines, but we thought we'd send this mail out now so we don't go months without an update again, as has become almost customary with us and something we're trying to rectify!
We are now really starting to heat up with regards the album. The finish line is in sight as all the tracks are now recorded and apart from the odd additional musician and last few touches here and there – we'll soon be in the mixing stage, which as any musician who has gone through this process will know is the time when you really have to start thinking about the bits and pieces before launch – i.e. duplication, album launch venue plans, distribution and album promotional tour, amongst many other things.
All of these are now on the horizon and some speculative enquires being made. We have as good as decided on a title, are close with the album art work and have started getting the promotional activity booked up, with at least one BBC session already confirmed for later this year.
We are hopeful that the record will be done and available before Xmas – with the timelines we're working to, it's certainly doable, but lots of hard work still to come.
For now though, here are a couple more snippets from songs from the new album – all unmixed, but will give you an idea.
As you will know, we had to say goodbye to our second bass player within a year recently, when Ian left for a career in the USA. Well, we 'think' we have found his replacement. Early stages yet, and much more will be revealed soon, but we're confident we won't be a 4 piece for long!
However, if any of you wish to see the classic ATC line up in a rare reunion, come along to The Proud Galleries in Camden this Sunday (26th August) where Ben Halls will be returning to play bass with us while he's on a 3 month holiday from Uni in Boston, which is quite frankly far too long (that's the US educational system for you). We will be doing 2 afternoon sets (roughly 4pm and 6pm) – one inside the venue, and one in the garden. Hope the weather's alright. This will be a free entry show, and as it's the bank holiday weekend, there is no better excuse for Sunday beers. Lots of other acts playing that day so it should be fun.
Anyway – watch this space as there should be a fair bit to announce in the coming weeks. We as always thank you massively for your support (this sort of thing would be a bit pointless without it) and apologies in advance if we hack any of you off with the upcoming promotion!
Cheers!
